Drugs, who's following who?
"It’s nothing, bit of a buzz that’s all, on a Saturday night that’s all, just some fun that’s all."
And that’s all your friends can tell you, because half the time that’s all your friends know.
And who can blame them?
What they know about drugs they probably learnt from a friend, who learnt it from a friend, who learnt it from a friend, who learnt it from someone not quite so friendly.
Their dealer for instance.
Trouble is, the truth about drugs can be harder to find than drugs themselves.
But the truth’s worth discovering.
If only for the sake of your friends.
Drugs, What's in it for you?
So who needs who more?
Think about it, do you need the cigarette,
or does the cigarette need you..?
Think about it, what use is a cigarette when it's sitting in the packet?
It's harmless, no threat, no danger, a useless, pointless pinch of dried leaves.
But take it out of the packet, light it, and you give it life.
You turn it from that useless, harmless tube into a potent, dangerous drug.
It needs you.
Far more than you'll ever need it.
Drugs, What's in it for you?
And they call it a controlled substance?
Drink nothing but spring water.
Watch those polysaturates.
Keep off the sugar, the salt, the red meat.
What are all those food additives?
At least someone knows.
But with drugs you take your chances.
For there's little chance they're pure.
So are you taking something mixed with worming tablets, with toilet cleaner, with brick dust?
Chances are you'll take whatever a dealer gives you.
And claim it’s your choice.
